Eerey Tocsin In The Cryptoid Zoo
Eerey Tocsin In The Cryptoid Zoo

Eerey Tocsin In The Cryptoid Zoo
Written by Kevin Noel Olson
Illustrated by Debi Hammack
Softcover $15.95
ISBN 1-887560-72-6

A wonderful and exciting story for children of all ages.
"It has been a long, long time, since I've encountered such original characters as Eridona "Eerey" Toscin, her werewolf-like cousin, Edict and their amazing mutant friends. From Eerey's pet prehistoric spider, Eightball, to the adventurous organtaur, Loofah, this book is simply crammed with wonder and imagination leagues removed from other such books."
- Ron Fortier, Writer of POPEYE and THE GREEN HORNET for Now Comics, and PETER PAN: RETURN TO NEVERLAND for Malibu Comics
"Opening this book is unlocking a door to worlds tantalizingly familiar and marvelously unknown. At times reminiscent of Doctor Dolittle, Alice In Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz while at other times all three and more rolled into one, 'Eerey Tocsin in the Cryptoid Zoo' is a dizzying, original tale. It is a journey of discovery about the world around us and the uniqueness within us. Kevin Noel Olson has an author's voice that speaks to the young and adult reader and commands rapt attention from both groups. It is educational & exciting, and carries more than a hint of menace. The author weaves scientific facts, classic & modern myth, fantasy, puzzles, creative problem solving and interesting perspectives on the world we think we know into an adventure that doesn't show the seams of its joined themes. He crafts a story that invites the reader to take part in an adventure that educates while it thrills, and does so with a very playful sense of humor. Eerey Tocsin, her cousin Edict that could pass for a werewolf or a troglodyte, an orangutaur named Loofah, Mongolian death-worms, an invisible boy that idolizes the legend under the bandages of The Invisible Man, Claude Rains, or the host of other beings inhabiting the mysterious Cryptic Zoo are all fleshed out in colorful style, even when you can't see them. Books that are so visual with their storytelling transcend the printed medium and allow the reader to think they've gotten a DVD player implanted in their brain. Works destined for other forms like animation and feature films jump off their pages and hustle their fans into getting them made for all to see on the silver screen." 'Eerey Tocsin in the Cryptoid Zoo' is one of those works.
- Vincent Ferrante, creator of WITCH HUNTER comic book
"Eerey Tocsin is a wonderfully inventive and exciting story, good for all ages. Kevin Noel Olson has a strong sense of voice and care for his craft. The narrative flows well and leads the reader easily into Olson's imaginative world. I highly recommend this book."

Coop's Corner Collection
Coop's Corner Collection

by William M. Cooper
Softcover $15.00
ISBN 1-887560-36-X
Non-Masonic, short stories.
A wonderful collection of inspirational and moral stories. Sure to please the younger or older reader.
"A delightful collection of inspirational and moral short stories. Sure to please the younger or older reader. "William Cooper is a wonderful dreamer. He puts together his little stories like the child with the still impressionable mind that dreams of a better world for all of us. And you can tell he writes his stories so that everyone can read them ... adults and children alike. Parents don't have to worry about their youngsters reading questionable material.
But most importantly, the stories have their own little messages. They're stories of honor, strength, kindness, and love ... even love for enemy. And Cooper's writings are vivid ... you see things, places, and people so clearly, yet without long passages of descriptive writing. A talent in and of itself. As a filmmaker, I fully intend to take advantage of some of the stories and put them to film. Indeed, they're such wonderful stories that I really wonder if I can do them justice. But I will certainly give it my all." Robert G. Christie, filmmaker No Longer My Twin, released by Frontier Film Releases Shallow Deep, and The Sobbing Stone

Nobly Born - by Stephen Dafoe
Nobly Born - by Stephen Dafoe

Nobly Born: An Illustrated History of the Knights Templar,
by: Stephen Dafoe
Publisher: Lewis Masonic
ISBN: 978 0 85318 280 1
The Poor Fellow Soldiers of Christ and the Templar of Solomon, popularly known as the Knights Templar, was the most famous and infamous of the crusading military orders. Created in the aftermath of the First Crusade,
(1096-1099) the Templars were established to ensure the safety of the large numbers of European pilgrims, who flowed towards Jerusalem after its conquest.
The Templars were an unusual Order in that they lived both an active and contemplative life; making them effectively the first warrior-monks in the western world. As such the Templars quickly expanded beyond their role as protectors of pilgrims and played a vital role in many battles of the Crusades.
Although they suffered more defeats than celebrated victories, the Templars are remembered as Christendom's most fearless military force.
Through innovative financial techniques that could be considered the foundation of modern banking and the use of a well established network of land holdings, the Templars in many ways resembled today's multi-national corporations. The Order's highly organised infrastructure, coupled with influential patrons, allowed the Order to gain great wealth and power in a relatively brief period of time.
This rise in power and prosperity continued until the Templars ran foul of King Philip IV of France, who arrested the Templars on October 13, 1307 on a variety of heretical charges. Philip had the Templars tortured in order to extract confessions of guilt and many of their number were ultimately burned at the stake. Under the influence of King Philip, Pope Clement V disbanded the Order on March 22, 1312.
In Nobly Born: An Illustrated History of the Knights Templar, noted expert Stephen Dafoe explores the Order from its origins through to its dissolution, set against the complex political and sociological backdrop that was the middle ages; a period of history where enemies could become allies at the drop of a hat.
Individual chapters examine:
-The factors that led to the First Crusade as well as a detailed account of the capture of Jerusalem.
-The origin of the Templars between the years of 1118 - 1120 AD.
-The Order's rise to papal favour and power and their commercial activities.
-The day to day life of the Templar in the convent.
-The military structure and discipline of the Order in the field.
-The major battles fought by the Templars during the Crusades.
-The downfall of the Order following the loss of the Holy Land in 1291.
-The legacy and mythos of the Templars that has developed since their demise.
Alongside the author's well-researched and comprehensive text is a superb illustrative content, vividly portraying the life of the Templars during this remarkable period of history. Video Promo
